Obviously, The Harvey Awards have thrown away any shred of credibility that they would ever hope to have. Just take a look at these nominations for best writer:

I mean, I might be high, but I don’t see Outsiders by “THE DAN” anywhere on that list. And if it’s not on that list, these “award” nominations for “best” writer are clearly flawed, and should not be taken seriously.

In a recent “interview” with The Source, Dan The Man mentioned some of the characters that he will be using in the upcoming OMAC series:

There are a lot of familiar concepts being introduced like Cadmus and Checkmate. Some not so familiar, like Amazing Man and Dr, Skuba, and some things new like the Bio-gators.

So, I want to show you guys some of those characters. And the photo above is Dr. Skuba, and one of the reasons I chose to showcase Dr. Skuba is simply due to DC’s typo of “Dr, Skuba”. But anyway, here’s the description of the character from the DC Wikia Page:

In the Pre-Crisis parallel world known as Earth-AD, Doctor Skuba was a criminal scientific mastermind that operated during the early 21st century. Tucked away in his mountain lair in theIndian Ocean, Skuba committed his scientific knowledge towards overthrowing the Global Peace Agency. Assisting him in this endeavor was his daughter Seaweed and her husband Apollo. Amongst Doctor Skuba’s many elaborate experiments, was his field work in genetic mutation. He selected human subjects (universally against their will) and mutated them into horrific monstrosities. One day, Skuba succeeded in capturing GPA agent Buddy Blank, more widely known as OMAC the One-Man Army Corps. He also used his inventions to disable Buddy’s artificial intelligence, the satellite known as Brother Eye.

Mr. Didio, you’ve got me excited.

Obviously, DC’s The Source isn’t going to have a real interview about the upcoming series, as the site is DC’s PR machine. However, if you’re curious about some of the details about OMAC by Mr. Didio and Mr. Giffen, Mr. Didio does answer some PR approved questions about the upcoming series.

DAN DIDIO: It’s the wild array of characters and types of stories. It’s everything that makes comics great.

How and why are you shaking up the series’ status quo?

From Kirby’s creation to the OMAC Project, there have been so many great ideas and concepts introduced in this series that is was fun to work with and add to this character.

What new characters will debut in the series?

Dan Didio is one of the co-publishers for DC Comics. As of late, he has also become a writer on some of the lower selling books in the publishing company’s catalog including the recently cancelled Outsiders, wherein he worked with Keith Giffen and Philip Tan. He also had writing duties on the event tie-in comic, Blackest Night: Weird Western Tales, as well as some writing experience on one of my favorite TV show, ReBoot.

In September, he will be re-teaming with Outsiders collaborator Keith Giffen to present the all new OMAC #1. While talking about this on a recent episode recording of The Gotham Central Podcast, I came to the realization that I actually own all of his his written work for DC Comics. I began to think about this fact, and realized that I have gotten to the point of truly loving and enjoying his work. You see, I have a love for really bad comics because they make me laugh.

This blog is not meant to defame Mr. Didio in any fashion, as I’ve met him and he’s a really nice guy, so there we nothing on this blog about him personally. Also, there are redeeming qualities to his books, so I don’t want it to seem like this blog is “out to get him” in any way, either.

This blog is simply a play on “The OMAC Project” in which I shall talk about the books that he’s written and writing, providing scans of panels that I think are ultra hilarious, while also showcasing videos that Mr. Didio is featured in.

In other words, this is a fanblog for Dan Didio.

God help me.
